But to hear Florida quintet Hundred Waters , you'd never think the two artists would belong in the same universe, let alone the same venue. The fivesome's experimental folk music, with its precise mix of organic and electronic instrumentation clattering beneath Nicole Miglis' soaring vocals, suggests something in the CoCo Rosie-meets-Tune-Yards-meets-J ulia Holter world. Hundred Waters is a very intriguing, folk-tronica, band from Florida who have managed to impress those with sophisticated, musical ears.  I don't fit into that category but hey, it still sounds pretty darn good to me. The video for their song "Thistle," was just released and it is a beautiful piece of stop-motion imagery that would make C+C Music Factory go, "hmmmm…"  It follows the adventurous life-cycle of a piñata horse, whose tears can turn water into earth.  If you have ever seen a Michele Gondry video, it is very reminiscent of that. Gainesville, FL natives (and recent signees to Skrillex's OWSLA label) Hundred Waters have released a new animated video for the track "Thistle," from their self-titled debut LP. Created by Martin Allais, the video stars a piñata horse on the loose, journeying across landscapes and devouring a thistle that becomes a little something more along the way. Check out the video for the slinking track below.

In Hundred Waters' music video for "Thistle", a stop-motion piñata horse is given the chance to transcend birthday parties and roam free. And roam he does, running like paper lightning through various fantastical landscapes (churches, in the desert at sunset), all while receiving visions in the form of Polaroid photos of his own life cycle. But like all good things in life, the horse's wandering ways are threatened with terrifying premonitions of derby masks and laughing audience members.
