This weekend, the title track for the new Green Day album, 21st Century Breakdown , hit the Internet, and is now above in YouTube form for you above. "21st Century Breakdown" mines the same territory as the band's American Idiot in that it's about how the world is causing frontman Billie Joe Armstrong to lose his mind. But the song is bit more prog-rock-ish in that it jumps between multiple musical motifs throughout its five minutes--sort of like a shorter, and less awesome, "Bohemian Rhapsody." [...]

This was one of those two-day stretches where pop leak blogs were in overdrive, thanks to the songs leaking from every crevice in the music industry's crumbling firmament (including its artists' own blogs ). Who wins? Well, the ad sales team at RapidShare, for sure.
