Have I mentioned how nice it is to have R.E.M. around again? Accelerate has been heralded as a return to form and is just a generally fun record. Stipe & Co. have just released music video number two from the album, the special effectstacular clip for "Hollow Man." My favorite part of the song is the sentimental misdirection at the beginning, all longing piano and heartache vocals that give way to those familiar jangly guitars and the full backbeat. Watch it before someone else does:

If you ever wanted to play a somewhat twisted form of karaoke to an R.E.M. song then this is your chance. It feels a bit like a final project at some artsy fartsy film school...but who said final projects wouldn't be as good as some big budget production?

REM has a new video for their new single called "Hollow Man". I'm pretty sure I don't like it. It kinda sounds like the theme song for a shitty TV drama about high school kids with emotional issues.
