Tweet Suckers 'Out On The Water' sounds like something I loved and lost many moon ago. Not possible mind given that the Brooklyn only created this splendour in 2009. I'm half kickin' myself that I missed it back then but half jumping for joy too that it wasn't lost in the abyss that is 100 gigabytes of unheard music. I tell ya, without random shuffle I'd probably be still listening to listening to 'Bye Bye Badman' on repeat. Anyways Suckers (not you, [...]

Tuesday, April 13, 2010 Today's Quick Mention: As I mentioned on Twitter yesterday, I'm really excited that Conan choose TBS as his new home. He gets an 11pm slot, a four day work week, ownership of this show, a chance to stay in California and a channel that's already ranked #2 on cable TV with 18-49 year olds. Should work well. I probably should have already mentioned Suckers' new album, today's song and the fact that they're coming to Austin (April [...]
After releasing their self titled EP this spring, Brooklyn based band Suckers are set to record their debut full length next month after signing to New York label Gigantic . For more head to their myspace , and be sure to look out for a remix of It Gets Your Body Movin by Yeasayer's Chris Keating.

"Suckers" on a google image search comes up with the nastiest images if you are unfamiliar with the amount of porn that is on the internet (just don't search Suckers on there okay?!). Anyway, speaking of images – I find the cover to their EP to be slightly odd and for whatever reason it gives me a weird feeling. A guy in gold jacket with a mask can do that I guess (I'm with agreeance that the EP cover is horrendous but alas their music is good). What can I say about Suckers ' [...]

Suckers - Easy Chairs This four piece band out of Brooklyn is piloted by solo artist Quinn Walker - much admired by the indie inner circle - but still unfamiliar to many. Now that he's teamed up with an extremely talented group of guys the ascent to stardom has begun since the release of their self-titled EP in April. This short four track release is rich with Bowie-esque vocals and killer instrumentals that pull from a wide range of influence. Check out the mind-warping video for "Easy Chairs" below! [...]

Suckers ' debut EP, produced by Yeasayer's Anand Wilder with Chris Moore, is out now on IAMSOUND . These guys definitely fall in the vein of Yeasayer, Amazing Baby, Chairlift, etc. There's also a major Talking Heads vibe going on here. New video and mp3 below. Suckers - It Gets Your Body Movin' (mp3)

All hail the return of freaks! Floating insect people in a strange, saturated, lush dreamworld. Suckers' Easy Chairs pours a playground refrain into a pliable stocking, then stretches, bends and pulls, like one of those rubber squeeze dolls with eyes that pop out . This song is just so ripe. The video requires only occasional focus. Turn it on, have a peek, and listen. And in case you missed it when I posted the track a few weeks ago, here's Suckers ' blurry anthem, [...]

by charles poladian Memorial Day is coming up. Ready for that 3 day weekend? The summer is fast approaching; I can't believe how quickly the days go by. Having released their EP about a month ago I'm a little late jumping on the Suckers bandwagon, but I'm on it now! Picked up by the ever impressive IAMSOUND label, the band is the latest group to meld just about everything they can find into some sort of pop that's melodic and alluring without sounding too New York. Perhaps sounding a bit like MGMT meeting a gospel choir in the church of the Cold War Kids, Suckers are anything but suckers as they don't fall for being just another indie [...]
