It really is shocking how Purity Ring has had such sustained buzz without ever releasing a record. Soon that will all change. On July 24th, 4AD will put out their debut, Shrines , and the odd-pop band will finally become full out stars. “Fineshrine” is our first taste of the record, and it’s as creepy and melodic as we have to come to expect and love from the Montreal duo. Really, take a listen to the lyrics and not get a bit freaked out.

Of all the newcomers this year, it's perhaps the nebulous electronic pop of Purity Ring that's received the most indie hype in 20122s memory. The duo has been together since 2010, but have essentially released only four tracks, and its off the strength of the more recent two in particular that have elevated the band to hipster watch status. Purity Ring's debut album Shrines is out July 24 via 4AD and a lot of people are excited about what the Montreal duo will create. There already has been numerous singles released up until this point, and Purity Ring doesn't disappoint us and delivers another song this week called, "Fineshrine." This track is fantastic with it's atmospheric, somewhat hazy, yet R&B infused beat and Megan James beautiful voice.
