I'm usually the first to scoff at music "news" like "Band Reveals Artwork And Track Listing For New Album!!!" However, I will admit that there's something about the artwork for the upcoming (Feb. 2010) Midlake album The Courage Of Others that has me reeel excited. Like the artwork for The Trials Of Van Occupanther , it's low-budg, trippy, and unashamedly nerdy. Midlake - Head Home

One of the best bands to emerge out of the North Texas area in some time, Denton's Midlake still ranks as one of our personal favorites. Their most recent album, The Trial Of Van Occupanther , is still in current rotation over here. That being said, we are quite happy to see that the band is embarking on yet another tour, including a Fourth Of July performance in NYC at Battery Park with The New Pornographers. Ringrazierò per sempre chi mi ha fatto scoprire i Midlake , band texana che con l' album The Trials of Van Occupanther ha riscosso enorme successo di critica, tanto da essere candidata a due Mojo Awards (miglior rivelazione e miglior album del 2006). C' è molta America nel disco, le atmosfere richiamano gli anni 70, la west coast e se dovessi citare alcuni riferimenti sarei ancora li: America (la band) e poi Simon & Garfunkel ma anche Grandaddy e Neil Young .
