2:54 have just put up a cover of 'Killer' by Seal and Adamski, yes the 90's pop stars. They've pulled it off with great precision and have put their own spin on it with the dark guitars and equally amazing vocals! 2:54 - Killer (CLICK TO LISTEN) Follow / [FACEBOOK] / [TWITTER] Other / [OFFICIAL SITE]
It's summer time! Officially. Finally. And that means it's time to see some outdoor shows, some bands from your youth, and maybe even see one of the worst concept tours I can possibly imagine. Thursday, June 21 Van Hunt with Ren the Vinyl Archaeologist at The Independent You never know what you're going to hear [...]

It would be easy to pigeonhole 2:54 as being the xx's moody, overdramatic cousins. Both bands are from London, rely heavily on yearning vocal melodies, and have a keen sense of atmosphere that elevates their songwriting. However, where the xx cut their teeth on early '90s R&B jams where the protagonist eventually finds love after yearning, 2:54 spiraled deeper into their Cure and My Bloody Valentine records only to find the beautiful sounds of loneliness put through a reverb-drenched amp. The band's control over their atmosphere recalls both of those bands, but adds the unique twist of the [...]

2:54 - London-based grrl-ish siblings Colette and Hannah Thurow are the dual creative forces behind this darkly atmospheric U.K. band and their highly buzzed (literally and figuratively) debut album // Release : 2:54 (June 5, Fat Possum) // Sounds like : a gothy shoe-gazing mix of distorted guitars and cool, dispassionate vocals, the Irish-born Thurows signal not so much emotional angst as even tempered ambivalence...a densely layered, mesmerizing production from Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey) lays the dreamy groundwork for the sisters' ten groove-driven songs, tracks that swirl and spiral with tightly-coiled force around [...]
Sitting somewhere between Garbage, PJ Harvey and Warpaint these sisters smack the gimmickry out of sibling bands and play with impassioned intensity.
My new favorite obsession of the year. They're 2:54 and I think I'm going to go and see them in Leeds tonight. What is it about them that enthralls me so? Check this beautiful video: [2:54 - You're Early VIDEO] [2:54 - You're Early] 2:54 are sisters Colette and Hannah Thurlow, joined by Alex and Joel on bass and drums. It's the haunting dual guitars and the seductive vocals that get to me, it's sexy, dangerous and dark at the same time. Vivid, brooding and moody as hell, listening to them conjures up bits and pieces of images from random [...]
South by Southwest 2012 has become somewhat of a battle between West Coast and East Coast this year. We're fine with that as the City of Angels has tons to offer for every single type of musical palette, but what about all the L.A. folks heading out there to see something non-local? There are plenty of choices, considering all the international bands have also made the trek. So, to make things easier, here are 10 artists beyond L.A. who will be worth your time: Gary Clark Jr [...]
This cold and lusty breath of atmospheric shoe-gaze goes by the name of "Scarlet". It's by 2:54 , a British band, helmed by two sisters. There's a certain fragile carnality and heartaching adolescent angst behind the sleek veneer and dense rhythms of Cocteau Twins -meets- Mogwai post-rock. You can watch the equally cool and ethereal video to "Scarlet" below: [...]

The band 2:54 are two sisters out of London who play shoegaze, drone, indie, garage rock to a whole new level. Their band name comes from a moment in a Melvins track ('A History Of Bad Men'). "We were always massive punk fans," explains Colette “It segued into other stuff – metal, then the Melvins and starting a life-long love of Queens Of The Stone Age, and from that we found Yawning Man and the whole family tree.” When comparing their music to others it may be safe to file them right [...]
Not a new music video but we want to share with you a band we've been digging a lot lately, 2:54, who have a music video for their current single, "Scarlet". Recently 2:54 made their US debut at Pianos last...
today i've fallen in love with .. the 2:54 ! and not just cause their she-singer kinda kinda kinda sounds like the SHIRLEY MANSON. check the nodnoL based she-sisters post-punk rock out in a TWILIGHTesque forest for their highly fabulous SCARLET video. wotyougot

This outfit, 2:54, is a pair of British blood sisters with shoegazer and eyeliner smeared all over their music and a terrific EP to their family name. (Thurlow, for the record.) Think about the sonic signifiers of Lush and PJ Harvey bottled inside a band that named itself after a specific moment in a Melvins song ("A History Of Bad Men") that's tight with the xx and Warpaint and you've rendered a fairly accurate composite sketch. Their EP is called Scarlet , it courses with the pained hormonal lust and vocals of the vaguely post-adolescent kind and savvy fuzz [...]

by Andrew Sacher London duo 2:54 , the current project of sisters Hannah and Colette Thurlow who previously played together in the punk band Vulgarians, have shared stages with Yuck, Male Bonding, and Warpaint, and even share an affinity with them for the same decade (the '90s). But while those bands are channeling the lo-fi/indie rock subgenres of the time, 2:54 are taking their influence from a much different side of the spectrum. Their name comes from the thundering 2:54 mark of [...]

Welcome along team, to a week of absolutely smashing releases. We had a lull, we're all aware of it, but like a failing marriage we said nothing, diligently hired the babysitter, and forced ourselves out for date night. And by jove it's worked as we're rewarded with tracks from Hyde and Beast, Beth Jeans Houghton and 2:54. Hooray etc. And still no Christmas nonsense. Fantastic. Let us know your favourite in the Comments at the bottom. Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves of Destiny - 'Lilliput' [...]
