Ever since the first listen of The Blanket Rule EP , it's been hard not to obsess over London five piece Breton . Art pop architects  Breton are releasing a stunning new video to accompany their new song  ‘The Commission’. It’s a strikingly beautiful song with a black heart and overwhelming sense of inevitable foreboding. The accompanying video perfectly encapsulates this. It was directed by  BretonLABS and  Stuart Sinclair , a motion graphics artist who makes computer generated clips of space and satellites. Breton front man - artistic experimentalist, songwriter and filmmaker  Roman Rappak, invited Sinclair to collaborate on the video. The actor is  Patrick Lyons , a beat poet from Boston [...]

Tweet It's been a quiet month at SGTMT headquarters as a combination of work (bad) and holiday (good) have taken priority. Whilst we've been away music submissions have been gathering dust in the in-tray alongside the moldy apples in the fruit bowl and scented by the sweaty gym socks we left hanging over the radiator. London artistic electronic "pop" Breton have been making some interesting music and visuals over the past year but 'The Commission' is my favourite thing from them. Imagine Foals made an album with Mount Kimbie, it's that sort of thing. The sci-fi video for the song is impressive in its scope. At the start of 2011 we highlighted a few of the acts that we were most looking forward to hearing from over the rest of the year. One of the bands we mentioned was Breton; a highly productive and incredibly talented group of folk who are involved in making films, producing and remixing for other bands and, thankfully, making their own wonderful noise. The band have recently announced that they have signed for the ever-brilliant FatCat Records and also that their debut LP Other People's Problems will be released in February [...]

Here are three new bands who have all recently put up videos for their lead singles. The first up is 'Wax' by London-based Theme Park. While finding them on search engines is no mean feat, it's well worth the effort. The bass is toe-tappingly compulsive and the laid back vocals add up to make a pleasing summer tune. Yes, they sound a little like the Talking Heads. But they were good. And so are Theme Park. You can pre-order their debut single on 73 here [...]

You know those scenes in films when the 'hero' gets a bit beaten up and has to pick himself up again before actually defeating the bad guy? Breton seem to have produced the perfect soundtrack for those precise moments. Their new song The Commission , taken from their debut album due for release in February is the very definition of epic, with a hypnotic, slow-building introduction and such an atmospheric feel that at times it sounds ethereal and at others deeply foreboding. Even the video is intense, full of sweeping images of empty space and satellites. [...]
