When I thought of Zeus , I would think of a wee lad strangling a pair of, probably a bit rubbish, snakes. No longer. I now think of a bustling quartet, boasting three lead singers and the ability to make me think that it is 1974 and I'm hanging out on a beanbag chair in McCartney's ludicrously decorated pad. The band release ' Are You Gonna Waste My Time?' on July 31st, a rip-roaring precursor to their ' Busting Visions ' LP which will come to a store near you on August 13th courtesy of So Recordings [...]

Here is an appropriately thunderous song from Canadian rockers Zeus [ Twitter / Facebook ]. If you've heard of them before, it'll probably be because they are signed to the rather excellent Arts & Crafts in North America, but have just recently been picked up by So Recordings over here. It is in that label that they are due to release their second album  Busting Visions  on August 13th, the artwork for which is above. OK I will admit it! I wasn't that much of a big supporter for Zeus . Yes they are a great band to see live but their first album "Say Us" didn't give me a lasting impression. Wasn't until I caught their CMW session at Sonic Boom and getting the album for free. Their set just wowed me. I had a change of heart after listening to Busting Visions.
