Video: "Once" Laura Marling live @ Southbank Centre 2012

Folky songbird Laura Marling , dressed in overalls, previewed new song 'Once' live, playing at BBC 6music's 10th birthday celebrations last month. Watch the video of her appearance at the Southbank Centre below. Marling's latest single, 'All My Rage', was released earlier this month (on the 2nd of April) and its promo video can be watched here. A few weeks ago the wonderful BBC 6 Music put on some live shows in London in celebration of their 10th Anniversary! Amongst the sea of talent that performed was the young and very gifted, Laura Marling. Amongst the tracks she played was this little number that TwentyFourBit points out. Titled "Once" it's a number backed by simple folk guitar and Laura's trademark vocal work. Beautiful as always.

Laura Marling has released three spellbinding albums in just four years time, and album number four may not be all that far behind. As TwentyFourBit  points out, the folk songbird debuted a track called "Once" at last month's  BBC 6 Music 10th anniversary celebration . Backed by a mellow guitar line that oozes folksy serenity, Marling channels her ache and forlorn into finding comfort and completeness in her lover's arms ("With my eyes on the prize of your bed, when all that's needed saying has been said"). Here's hoping Laura Marling plans to put this batch to tape soon, as "I Was An Eagle," "Pray for Me," and "Once" are sounding worthy of release to these ears - even in their early live form, where she's said it's best to risk a mistake or two to keep things fresh. The latest piece of road-tested material comes courtesy of BBC 6 Music's 10th birthday celebration, for which Marling and her band performed a full radio set in front of a live audience and film crew.
