After the blog sensation that was the lo-fi nu-disco gem "Bermuda", Kisses rather hurriedly see the need to release an album, just when blogging seemed to be doing them in such good stead. A hasty move? It's hard to forget the first time you hear "Bermuda" by Kisses.Surely the sheer definition of blog phenomenon in 2010, its lo-fi, made-in-my-bedroom vibes and timid melody are effortlessly beautiful, supported by a Casio keyboard backing track that sounds like the cheapest thing that ever transported you to a sun-kissed beach. Follow-up track "People Can Do The Most Amazing Things" was less of [...]

Kisses , le duo californien produit par Maman Records , dont nous vous présentions cet été le single People Can Do The Most Amazing Things , nous revient avec un premier album cohérent, empreint d'un romantisme moderne sur fond d'exotisme triste. The Heart Of The Nightlife - qui sort demain - mêle pop et new-waverie planante, entre Hot Chip et Memory Tapes ; en bref, Kisses, c'est un peu Los Angeles sous la pluie, soit la BO idéale d'un dimanche automnal au ciel bas... Nous avons le plaisir de vous faire [...]

'Do you like Kisses ' - I asked some bro this question in da clurb the other week and he was like 'LOL whut!'. It was a short conversation. The Kisses I refer to are an LA babe/bro duo who have wantonly pursued, captured and held for ransom my heart with their debut album 'Heart Of The Nightlife'. Can I describe them without using the words 'dreamy', 'synth' and 'pop'? Not really, for I am hungover and struggling lexicologically... but this is the dreamiest of the poppiest of the synthiest dreamy synth pop going around. Don't [...]

Kisses is a Los-Angeles based disco project featuring Jesse Kivel and Zinzi Edmundson. Though primarily inspired by long-format, instrumental disco (Cerrone, Gino Soccio) Kisses has developed a uniquely concise songwriting style that is equal parts FM radio pop and expansive four-to-the-floor. Early in life, Kivel developed a friendship with venerated cult disco producer Alec R. Costandinos, who rose to prominence in the late 1970s on a wave of ambitious concept albums and club singles. As Costandinos made available his knowledge and a healthy vinyl collection, the seeds for the Kisses album [...]
