Basil and I went to the much anticipated Dirty Projectors concert last week at our favorite Bay Area venue, The Fillmore. Wow, what a performance! Their sound is incomparable live. Dave Longstreth surrounds himself with beautiful girls with powerful voices. We were all buzzing after the show. The crowd just couldn't get enough! Can't wait to see them alive again! — Melon

Thanks to Edward Droste for the twipoff . The Grizzly Bear lead singer eloquently described this video, a Tuesday acoustic session of "No Intention": "Radio sessions have no "vibe" - yet, Dirty Projectors make me feel like I'm watching them by a campfire. Amazing."
Any Dirty Projectors fans out there? I admit I'm a bit late to the party on these guys, mainly because I initially wasn't digging the lead vocals by Dave Longstreth (not the ladies, they're fantastic). But I really like the lead guitar lines as well as the minimal sonic backdrop these guys/gals put together. This is probably my favorite tune they do: Dirty Projectors Perform "No Intention" on SIRIUS XMU [YouTube] The acoustic set-up is nice, but I think I actually prefer the [...]
Sirius XMU did a session with Dirty Projectors the other day (or something like that), and have released a video for "No Intention", which was done acoustically. They did some acoustic renditions at the show I was at a couple of nights ago, and it sounded pretty cool. I'm still a fan of "Useful Chamber" [...]
More than any other band working today probably, do Dirty Projectors' performances seem to recall watching the guts of some fabulous and foreign machine at work. There's something about the band's apparent professionalism and patience that seems a little bit inhuman. Watch what I'm talking about in this clip of the band performing "No Intention" for Sirius Sattelite Radio's XMU Sessions. The session will also include performances by Dinosaur Jr., the Raveonettes, and Thao Nguyen. The full Dirty Projectors performance will air tonight at 9PM ET on XMU. [ Stereogum ]

Dirty Projectors showcased an acoustic "No Intention" at Housing Works this past Spring. Take a break from familiarizing with new DP material , for another stripped-down take on the Bitte Orca tune: They did it this time for Sirius' new XMU Sessions, a series that has upcoming showings from Dinosaur Jr., the Raveonettes, and Thao Nguyen. Those will likely be interesting enough, but it's always a treat watching Dave Longstreth & Co. lay open the intricate guts of their compositions without a safety net.
