Video: Portugal The Man "Do You"

Voodoo announced their set times this weekend on Facebook and Twitter pages in real-time, billing the weekend experiment as Virtual Voodoo . If the band was playing at 2:00 pm on Friday, the announcement of the band's time/stage information was made at exactly 2:00 pm on Friday with an accompanying YouTube clip of the band. Definitely a novel way to put out the set times that is very much in keeping with the initial one-artist/one-day-at-a-time lineup announcement.

Wasilla, Alaska's Portugal. The Man headlined the legendary Horseshoe Tavern on Wednesday night, enrapturing the diverse Toronto crowd with a psychedelic haze of multicoloured lights and fog. Hockey were originally supposed to provide additional support, but they were double booked and elected to film a performance for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Rather than filling the void with another act, psych-rockers Drug Rug played an extended opening set, much to my delight.

If you are looking for something to do this Wednesday, look no further.  I give you Portugal. The Man, one of the most trippy classic rock bands around.  All the members of Portugal are from Alaska, which I tend to this is pretty darn sweet, other than that you can be certain that a high concentration of Scope elites will be there.  So if you love some good music, some cool Scopers or this. Here is the new video from Portugal. The Man, "Do You" from their album Satanistic Satan . I'm still on their bandwagon, secretly savoring their growing buzz as a band to watch. Portland's own Portugal. The Man plays MusicfestNW on Saturday (Roseland, 9:40 pm), but you don't have to wait to see 'em because BAM! New video! And they probably won't be wearing weirdo '70s sci-fi space suits at the concert... Awesome. Just awesome.
