But some musicians really enjoy their eats and need more than a mere 140 characters. In the case of My Morning Jacket 's Jim James , Zooey Deschanel 's She & Him bandmate M. Ward , and Beastie [...]

Music video for "The Right Place" by Monsters of Folk from the band's self-titled debut album.
This has to be the best supergroup of the year. Jim James, M. Ward, Mike Mogis and Conor Oberst uniting to make an album. The footage of the video must show a glimpse into how laidback and relaxed the sessions for the album must have been. It basically just shows that band... Click the link to read more
monsters of folk - the right place [from wikipedia: Monsters of Folk is an American band, consisting of Jim James from My Morning Jacket, Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis from Bright Eyes and M. The day after they appeared on Conan , Monsters of Folk released the video for "The Right Place," the second single from their self-titled debut. Unlike "Say Please," "The Right Place" is mostly a Jim James joint; he's leading Oberst, M. Ward and that dude from Bright Eyes (Mike Mogis) on this one, with the other guys' voices only really beaing heard during the choruses. The video is shot in presumably the band's practice space, which just happens to look like your nana's backyard (peep the dwarves). Monsters of Folk [...]

We've got two awesome videos for the day straight from the ZME inbox, both signed by one of the best projects of the year, Monsters of Folk . The first is the official video for " The Right Place ," filmed pretty old school in black and white, featuring the band members giving it all they have in the studio, quite fitting for the Americana vibe of the song. The second video is that of the band's yesterday live ' killer ' (to quote the host) performance at Conan O'Brien's The Tonight Show, where they rocked the [...]

Monsters Of Folk are four dudes better known for other projects, they are the Them Crooked Vultures of the NPR-section of contemporary music, they are like the Traveling Wilburys but not as iconic, all of this is true. But also they are four dudes best known for playing guitar while they sing, which you're reminded of as soon as The Tonight Show 's camera pans past M. Ward bent over a piano and Yim Yames who keeps plucking that chicken bass. Conor gets to play it close to the vest with acoustic strums and totally necessary sunglasses [...]
I'm still obsessively listening to the Monsters of Folk album that came out yesterday, so no review just yet. BUT the guys were on The Tonight Show last night. And judging by what I've heard on the album so far and by watching their performance, I'm going to try my damnedest to catch one of their live shows . Check it out: This video and song is pretty awesome too. Go buy their album now.
I have been steadily making my way through this week's solid list of new releases . It's hard to dislike the highly anticipated Monsters of Folk album featuring M. Ward , Jim James & Conor Oberst . It's got some super catchy songs that warrant repeated listens. Above, get a look into studio through this great video set to "The Right Place." Buy: Monsters Of Folk (Only $7.99)
