The 64th Venice Film Festival is currently at the halfway point and if you're curious to know which actors and directors are making appearances then click below to see the photogallery. Everybody from Hollywood film stars like Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Charlize Theron, Jude Law to Asian film stars like Tadbandou Asando, Aoi Miyazaki, Wen Jiang, Joan Chen to a slew of European celebrities are all there. At today's "The Beat Goes On" media event held by Apple Inc., Steve Jobs announced a refresh of the entire iPod family, a new iPod Touch, a $200 price reduction for the 8 gig iPhone (now $399), and a new wireless iTunes music feature that will work with the iPod Touch and iPhone. A few days after Apple announced that they will not sell NBC TV shows for the upcoming telelvision season on its iTunes music store, NBC and Amazon have reached an agreement to sell those NBC shows on Amazon's Unbox video store. On May 30th Palm, Inc. made an announcement about an up and coming new product that would be released in the coming months. That product was the Foleo. While hardly revolutionary the idea was to introduce an entire new product line that would fit somewhere between the smallish smartphones and the too heavy to lug around all the time laptops. The Foleo would have come with a 103 screen, (slow) Arm processor, 256 MB flash memory, run a custom Linux kernel, bluetooth, wifi, 5 hour battery life, turn on instantly, weight 2.4 pounds and cost $599. More Swedish indie pop goodness is about to arrive in the form Sambassadeur's new "Subtle Changes" album, which will drop on October 24th via Labrador Records . I found out about the band from downloading the massive Labrador free Summer Sampler 20007 . Three tracks from Sambassadeur were included on that sampler and all of them sounded wonderful. With the band's "Subtle Changes" album set to be released next month, Labrador has made available the title track from that album available for download and it's groovy stuff indeed.
