From Boy & Bear on Saturday night at the Hi-Fi in Brisbane’s inner city suburb of West End, to Tyler The Creator and his controversial Odd Future collective on Sunday night, the juxtaposition couldn’t have been more extreme. The stirring vocal harmonies of Boy & Bear had been replaced by the energy, aggression and swagger of raps newest kids on the block: OFWGKTA. The dexterous DJ Sampology intro-ed the evening with a mash-up mixture of R’n’B beats, old school tracks and a healthy dose of impromptu scratching, only interspersed by the crowds [...]

Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All have very little tolerance for rules. Breaking laws – whether actual or perceived – is just part of what they do. From their ungainly moniker to their entirely self-funded and promoted output to their unflinching lyrical content, OFWGKTA, or simply Odd Future, don’t set much store by what has been done before. In a year where they have gone from absolute unknowns to the brink of superstardom, it would seem that their policy of rebellion has worked. And then some. Little more than a year ago, Odd Future [...]
Filed under: News , Exclusive , New Releases Roger Kisby, Getty Images Sarah Quin is not afraid to say that she doesn't "get" Tyler, The Creator , or his hip-hop band of merry miscreants, Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All . The indie singer-songwriter of Tegan and Sara fame knows her opinion -- in the form of a scathing post on the band's website -- might make her [...]

Last Thursday, skate-prick rap collective Odd Future signed off Tumbr and appeared on national television. Sporting ski masks with inverted crosses scrawled on them, and bouncing across a smoke-filled stage, Tyler , the Creator, the crew's charismatic frontman, along with Odd Future point guard Hodgy Beats , performed their 2010 single "Sandwitches" on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon . The morning after, the Internet - which basically birthed Odd Future as well as most interesting rap these days - celebrated the group's bizarro entrance into the mainstream. [...]
Last week Jimmy Fallon was probably the first major network host to use a QR code to introduce a guest. During a brief intro of Tyler The Creator and Hodgy Beats of Odd Future, Fallon held up a large card with a QR code on it that that, when viewed by a smartphone app, led to oddfuture.com and the a video of Tyler The Creator’s “Yonkers.” Startups like Sharesquare have also done similar QR code promotions with indie artists. [...]
This rap crew from L.A. just kill it.... Odd Future television debut, live on Jimmy Fallon (which means the Roots backing them up!): yep.
Odd Future makes their television debut and gives us one of the most memorable moments in television history. And by memorable, I really mean “WTF.”
If I get behind a band/artist it’s because I feel aconnection to their music. Musicas we all know is a very powerful art that can make a listener happy, sad, orfeel a range of emotions. Lastnight I witnessed a general wave of buzz from music bloggers that could only bedefined as hypocritical and disgusting. Yes, I agree with the majority that the performance below was highenergy and entertaining, but as a human, a flashy object doesn’t blind me fromseeing the whole picture. [...]
Tweet Here's the television debut you have to see. Tyler the Creator and Hodgy Beats give a ridiculous performance of "Sandwitches," and absolutely everyone gets pumped. Trust us, watch the whole thing.
Golf Wang on national television. WOW.
Odd Future — Sandwitches (Live on Fallon) Poor Jimmy- he had no idea what he was in for.
Well, them OFWGKTA boys made their first national TV appearance last night on Jimmy Fallon and didn’t disappoint. Complete with a chick dressed as a zombie, Tyler the Creator and Hodgy Beats performed live with the Roots and put something back in hip hop that’s been missing for a very long time…the combination of shock value and raw talent. Is Odd Future a gimmicky new version of the horror-core rap of the Gravediggaz or the shock rap styles of D-12 and the Outsidaz? Maybe. But it works because at the end of the day, they’re talented kids. [...]
Tyler The Creator and Hodgy Beats go crazy on Fallon. Tyler The Creator - Sandwitches

"Proved why people can't stop talking about them" - Pitchfork "Legendary" - Gorilla Vs Bear "More Punk than Any Band I've seen in a long time" -Waylon Thorton "Wolf?" - Felicia Day "SWAG SWAG SWAG" - Mos Def FREE EARL Sandwitches - Tyler, the Creator and Hodgy Beats
Holy shit, while you were sleeping, Odd Future 's Tyler the Creator and Hodgy Beats did "Sandwitches" with the Roots backing them up and it's the most cool thing you'll see in your life! Their LP was a QR code!! These kids are great! Boys will be boys!

Well, the insane rap group known as Odd Future made their television debut on the Jimmy Fallon show. Now, most of you have probably seen Tyler, The Creator's disturbing video with his no-holds-bar lyrics for "Yonkers," so one should know what to expect from him and his fellow OFWGKTA ( Odd Future Wolfgang Kill Them All ) members. For the performance, Tyler, The Creator and Hodgy Beats performed with so much raw energy, that I think they [...]

My main concern is how Tyler the Creator and to some extent Hodgy Beats move that frickin fast. Let's call it sugar for now. Tyler looked close to taking Brandon T. Jacksons head off as he rushed Fallon's desk. And can't beat Mos Def jumping the camera screaming "swag" over and over. Also, the culprit who stole Tyler the Creator's show after a Santos stage dive earlier in the week? Caught twice on camera, once by Tyler.
