This is some sheer pop perfection. Dee Dee's voice is three parts Chrissie Hynde to one part Neko Case, and the thick dreamy production draws a few clouds across the sunny California skies. Resistance is futile.

Today we discovered that Los Angeles' indie pop sensation Dum Dum Girls are partially based in NYC, since front lady Dee Dee currently calls The Big Apple home, while the rest of the band is still based in California. These often bare legged ladies will perform at the Music hall of Williamsburg on February 07 with Deli NYC favorite Widowspeak - a show dream pop lovers shouldn't miss.

Hot retro goth girls make sweet pop music.  DDG are a band that again in the past haven't really done it for me as they used to have such a wall of noise over their songs that the reverb was frankly off-putting.  Couldn't take it. On their most recent album they've shot straight for the pop-gut and brought the vocals more forward in the mix, and kept their cute gothiness.    I can imagine the Bangles recording this track if they were reborn in the late 19802s and were just hitting the music world [...]

L’album commence pourtant tellement bien ! On entre furieusement dans  Always Looking , sans intro interminable, sans fioritures ; l’action est déjà en marche et elle nous happe inévitablement.
