A week out from the official release, the band have put the whole thing up for streaming over at Soundcloud . David Byrne and St. Vincent got their tour bus wheels rolling last night with their first live show in Minneapolis. But instead of sticking to the tracks from recent collaborative LP Love This Giant , the pair decided to throw in a few pseudo-covers of each other's own material. David Byrne and St. Vincent kicked off their Love This Giant Tour on Saturday night at the State Theatre in Minneapolis, Minn., where the pair and a large backing ensemble (12 pieces in all) treated the crowd to a mix from their collaborative album of the same name and songs from their respective catalogs. According to a review from the local Star Tribune , Byrne and St. Vincent "seemed hot to trot, full of cool ideas and nervy enthusiasm as well as some odd ideas and heady intentions that were not well thought out." David Byrne and St. Vincent kicked off their tour behind Love This Giant in Minneapolis on Saturday night. And by the looks of the setlist and accompanying fan footage, it was an indie-rock version of the Watch the Throne tour. Byrne and Annie Clark performed material from their joint album plus cuts from each other's respective catalog, including Talking Heads' "This Must Be The Place" and "Burning Down the House". Clark played guitar and sang backing vocals on "Burning Down the House", and Byrne did a nice jig during "Cruel". [...]
