Jimmy Kimmel had The Cure on the other night doing their latest single "Freakshow." Insert way too easy Robert Smith joke here. Not a bad performance actually, and stronger than some of their most recent material.
On tape, The Cure's "Freakshow" is something of an awkward mess: Robert Smith comes in and out of pocket, and the music seems to be going off a cliff at high speeds. Live, it's pretty much exactly the same, as proven here by the band's performance on Jimy Kimmel last night. Luckily, the annoying Blue Oyster Cult-esque cowbell from the studio version is negligable here, and Smith's vocals aren't as grating.
