"Party in the U.S.A." is the best pop song about national unity that anyone will release this year, including when we get a Kanye West/Taylor Swift collab around Christmas. This is because Miley Cyrus is unimpeachably a real American. Sure, she goes to award shows and she's famous, but she's Disney Channel famous and she espouses Christian values whenever she gets the chance. I can't believe how much disdain I have toward myself for finally giving in and liking this song. I mean, it's not like I haven't liked almost everything Miley Cyrus has done before (you think I'm joking), but this song I couldn't swallow the first few times I heard it. Something about using the term "tummy" and pretending that she listens to Jay-Z really turned me off. The new single (and accompanying vid!) from Miley Cyrus, ie the girl who didn't get the memo, is amazing. *sigh* I guess I never got the memo.
