The first thing that strikes you about the Blood Orange release is the cover; a young, practically naked, male erotic dancer with dollars hanging out of his thong. An image, I'll struggle to shift in a hurry. Luckily the second thing is the hookline of Forget It , a suitably sleazy 80s electro melody that, the odd oriental flourish and lead break aside, keeps your interest for its full four minutes despite practically the only lyrics being "I'm not your saviour, baby girl". The moment I clicked on the ‘play’ button of the ‘Forget It’ music video from Blood Orange , the word low-fi sprang up in my mind instantly. Not only the sound of the song seems low-fi, but of course, the VHS-filmed music video adds to the thinking. ‘Forget It’ is bouncy and features melodic guitar riffs here and there. Directed by Alan Del Rio Ortiz and shot on VHS, the video for Blood Orange ’s forthcoming, Coastal Grooves featured single ‘Forget It’ follows Dev Hynes himself from early morning light until he arrives rather late at his girlfriend’s door. ‘Forget It’ is due for release on 12 March.

Blood Orange has revealed the video for forthcoming single 'Forget It'. The track is taken from Dev Hynes' latest album, 'Coastal Grooves' , and is due for release as a single on 12th March. Blood Orange was recently announced to be appearing at this year's Field Day , alongside the likes of Friends and Liars. Devonte will also be touring with Florence & The Machine as part of their US tour . You can check out the Valentine's-themed, Alan Del Rio Ortiz-filmed video above.
