Metal/visual-kei superstars X Japan are performing in the United States for only the second time in their long history this weekend at Lollapalooza 2010. Festival organizer Perry Farrell took a personal interest in booking the Asian superstars for their huge Stateside gig, and to help promote their set he's released a video where he discusses what fans can hope to see at Lollapalooza with X Japan founder Yoshiki.
Before this tumbled into our lives today, we had absolutely no idea who X Japan was. But now we do: they're a metallic pop outfit that just so happens to be the biggest and baddest in all of Japan, though that explanation seems kinda surface-y. Their cultural reach probably goes even further than that.
