I saw Andrew Bird do this stripped-down version of Anonanimal at MusicNow in Cincinnati. While the video itself isn't that timely — being from April and all — the fact that Noble Beast is hitting shelves next week makes it relevant. Either way, it's always fun to see how Bird does things on his own, what with the looping and pizzicato and bow twirling. He looked like Charlie Daniels sometimes. Andrew Bird - Plasticities

A solo take on the best song from Andrew Bird's solid new release, Noble Beast , from last April. I prefer this version -- it's more raw and unrefined, a musician building a song on the spot. Beast isn't quite as fierce as I was hoping, giving the rock action of Armchair Apocrypha , but it's a welcome addition to his catalog and one I'm going to let sink in a while longer before offering a full review. *** Click below for more Videos .
