So far this week the NoisePop festival's brought us a taste of new St. Vincent and Deerhunter . Now we have the old performed in a new way: Hüsker Dü/Sugar frontman (and, now, Anti- solo artist and DJ) Bob Mould joined No Age onstage to do a rendition of their "Miner" and his classic "New Day Rising." Two generations of noisy art-punk came together on one stage as Bob Mould joined No Age at the San Francisco Noise Pop Festival. They play the latter's "Miner" followed by the Hüsker Dü classic "New Day Rising". (via Prefix )
The quality is far from perfect, but this video clip shot at the 2009 Noise Pop festival presents a chance to see No Age team up with former Husker Du/Sugar frontman Bob Mould. He initially helps out No Age with a frenetic run through of "Miner," which is played at the kind of breakneck speed that Mould excelled at in his Huskers prime. The threesome then perform a similarly frantic version of "New Day Rising," a track that's almost 25 years old but still sounds as fresh as the day it was recorded. Mould and No Agers [...]
