Chan Marshall aka Cat Power is working on "Covers II" slated for an early 2008 release. Her first "Covers" album, released in 2000, featured amazing re-workings of the Rolling Stones "Satisfaction", Phil Phillips "Sea of Love", and the Velvet Underground's "I Found A Reason" - among many others. There's no word on which songs will appear on "Covers II", but I do hope her cover of Blondie's "Hanging On The Telephone" (Cingular commercial) gets placed on the album. (more...)

Take for instance Chan Marshall, aka Cat Power. Last year she returned to work with producer Doug Easley, she recorded in his Easley-McCain studio in the 90's, to produce her latest record The Greatest .
