R.I.P. Frank Navetta, Founding Descendents Guitarist
Frank Navetta, original guitarist for SoCal brat-punk icons the Descendents , has died, according to an announcement on the Descendents website. Navetta formed the group in 1978 with bassist Tony Lombardo and drummer Bill Stevenson, issuing a single for "Ride the Wild" as a trio before introducing singer Milo Aukerman into the mix. Navetta played on the band's debut EP Fat , their must-have debut LP Milo Goes to College , and a few tracks on 1985's I Don't Want to Grow Up .
