FRENCH HORN REBELLION are a two-piece sibling outfit hailing from the cities of Brooklyn & Milwaukee. They describe themselves as '...two brothers who enjoy photoshopping French horns onto things they shouldn't be photoshopped on." Now I know we've interviewed the band before (back in the summer of 2011) but they've recently teamed up californian producer VICEROY to collaborate on a brilliant jam titled 'Friday Nights'. We actually featured the track last week, you can listen to and download it for free HERE . After loving the [...]

This is kind of a slow show week... You know what's great about living in the Bay Area? Prince, Kylie Minogue, Jenny Lewis, and Poncho Sanchez are all playing a "slow" week. This place is awesome! Thursday, May 19th Yelle, French Horn Rebellion at The Regency Ballroom French Horn Rebellion were kind enough to share [...]

Wednesday Night was a busy night for 9:30 Club -they managed to put on two distinctly separate shows and switched out the entire crowd in between. This put French Horn Rebellion at an advertised time of 10:30, which unfortunately was not adhered to, leaving many hipsters stranded in line, checking each others' threads out and shuffling their feet. I don't know who the first set was, but I overheard an exiting patron mention something about them being at "Buzz Fest," so I immediately knew I didn't care to know. [...]

Oh dear. French Horn Rebellion have recently released a bit of a mediocre album. At best a bounce along bundle of happiness (listen to 'Up All Night' and 'Brasilia Girl' ) and at worst dry, plod-along retro electro ( 'Broken Heart’ - what is that about?!) The somewhat indulgently titled 'The Infinite Music Of French Horn Rebellion (Once Upon A Time) ' is a bit of a disappointment. Whilst there are some moments of genius, in parts [...]

Up All Night - French Horn Rebellion I Can Talk ( French Horn Rebellion Remix) - Two Door Cinema Club
French Horn Rebellion are Robert and David Perlick-Molinari; two brothers born and bred in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but currently residing in Brooklyn, New York. With the release of their debut UK single, the “damn catchy electro-pop jam” (as described by one US blogger) that is “Up All Night”, and now the announcement of their first ever UK shows for the end of September they are preparing to bring their mischievous mix of electronic, rock and dance to the UK. “Up All Night” which is out now, released through new Indie Once Upon A [...]

On Friday, September 18, Madison's hipster freak-out promoters, Wongz Walk, (responsible for the crime of trying to make drinking Colt .45 cool) will host a fairly bad ass showcase in the lobby of the Orpheum Theatre during the Forward Music Festival . Dane101 has collected as many videos as possible from the performers who will be making the normally refined space bat guano crazy. The featured videos: 1) Y.A.C.H.T.: "Psychic City" 2) Das Racist: "Pizzahut Tacobell" 3) Purple Crush: [...]

Good ol' fashioned electro-tinged music night in Tucson last night. First up on the bill was new kids on the block French Horn Rebellion from Williamsburg, New York. I heard they produced MGMT's first EP and you can definitely hear the resemblance in their music. Like MGMT with a sense of humor, they play a mix of electro-pop music that is extremely ridiculous but also insanely radio friendly. Not only were their tunes infectious but their stage presence/performance was full of energy. One minute they would be tickling the synth keys while singing and the [...]

French Horn Rebellion are duo/brothers from Brooklyn, NYC . Seems they produced the first MGMT EP's and funny enough they seem to have a similar look. Recently their manager contacted us for consideration on OTR and after hearing their music we had to oblige. Great stuff! They have an EP out called 'Beaches and Friends' and are currently on tour with Database and hard at work on their debut album. They've already had some big name [...]

Summer isn't over yet, especially now that we the Beaches and Friends EP , a collaboration between FRENCH HORN REBELLION and DATABASE . Sounds a bit like Justice -lite. Disco stabs and a catchy chorus, you'll love it! DOWNLOAD MP3's Beaches and Friends (Hey Champ Remix) Beaches and Friends (The Twelves Remix)
So Dr. Fecher over at Monolith Music Festival has been hecka busy with the facebook and twitter page, updating a few times a day since the last time I mentioned it. Here's the line up so far (I as going to put stars next to the name of the artists I'm stoked to see ... but that would be irrelevant considering this line up [because I love them all]): OF MONTREAL MSTRKRFT GIRL TALK METHOD MAN & REDMAN M. You'll have to pardon my unexplained and annoying leave of absence over the last several days. I'd share an explanation, but somehow I feel the standard "broken-item-takes-way-longer- to-repair-than-was-originally- quoted" story is already as well known as it is uninteresting. I propose we skip it, and proceed to dive head first into this overflowing collection of under-promoted, overachieving artists whom I have, at last, found the time to experience. See, while being stuck without my computer for such a time seemed an initial inconvenience, it actually provided the perfect setting to make a dent in the accumulating month's worth of [...]

French Horn Rebellion Savior Adore OK Deejays @ Pink Door , Jan 28th, 10pm $3 French Horn Rebellion- Up All Night Savior Adore- Gloria and the Scarlet Exit
I'd be remiss if I didn't say something about the MGMT-ish "it" band of the moment, French Horn Rebellion . Because much like Fabulists' obsession with toast , it seems that I've developed one for horns. All things horns. One more horn video and I'll be like the little old lady everyone knows who collects ducks to the point where it becomes creepy. So French Horn Rebellion, just another ironic band name like Natalie Portman's Shaved Head ? No, there's really a horn. And a high-la rious bio. [...]
