Some great track came out last week. Here is just a really small selection of the best stuff you need to be listening to this weekend. The new track "Swell" is a nice building electro track that you should not miss. The track is part of an upcoming EP entitled Little [...]
"Tell me a story somethin I can picture, Tell me a secret, I won’t tell anyone, Tell me whatever, give me something to do, Make me a promise cause I want it bad" Na sequência do post anterior, hoje é dia de dar a conhecer mais algumas músicas que preenchem a minha lista pessoal de preferências de 2011. Ainda pelo outro lado do Atlântico Norte, o tema que se instala na posição #39 é "

Tonight, The Bottleneck, in Lawrence, hosts The Pains of Being Pure At Heart and Twin Sister. The Pains of Being Pure At Heart released their second album, Belong , early this year. The band formed in New York City in 2007 and have been an indie-pop favorite ever since. Here are videos for "The Body" and "Heart In Your Heartbreak" from the latest album. Twin Sister is touring in support of its debut album, In Heaven . Also [...]

Four of the six artists debuting tracks in the Top 30 this week are making their second and for Kurt Vile third appearance in the chart for 2011. Vile with the emotion laden track, 'The Creature' (25) off his forthcoming EP, So Outta Here is joined in his return by electronic duo Pallers, 'Humdrum' (13), singer songwriter and multiinstrumentalist, Annie Clark, aka St Vincent 'Cruel' (23) and Grecian electronic duo Keep Shelly In Athens, 'Our Own Dream', (26). Japanese multi-genre veterans Boris, 'Spoon' (24), and Long Island's Twin Sister with the retro funky 'Bad Street' (27) round off the debuts. [...]
Considering how Twin Sister's m.o. hasn't exactly been based on instant gratification, it's all too appropriate that its long-awaited debut In Heaven takes awhile for its charms to fully reveal themselves. For a buzzed-about band, Twin Sister sure took its own sweet time, at least by today's standards, in pulling together its first album, In Heaven. In the time that it takes many a blogosphere darling to come and go, the Long Island quintet has been slowly but surely working up to its debut LP, only releasing a few appetite-whetting EPs since forming in 2008. So while [...]

While Twin Sister's previous EPs were a product of DIY production recorded in an apartment, the band capitalized on its new studio environment to capture a little piece of heaven. Read more » http://rpc.blogcatalog.com/

Ξυπνάω και κοιμάμαι με την κορώνα ...and I believe / that when we die we [...]

Twin Sister Long Island's Twin Sister have been gaining momentum. Last year, their EP Color Your Life finished 13th in Gorilla vs. Bear's best of 2010 list , and the band finished 3rd in the "Best Hope for 20113 category of Pitchfork's Readers' Poll . 2011 has arrived and, following a well-received set at the Pitchfork Music Festival, they are ready to release their debut LP In Heaven September 27th on Domino Records. Drummer Bryan Ujueata was kind enough to take some time to answer some of our [...]

Album Review: Twin Sister - In Heaven Twin Sister ’s vibrant and youthful exultations always prided themselves upon their playful and promiscuous genre-hopping; parts of their ‘Vampires With Dreaming Kids’ (2008) drew heavily from freak folk, and parts of its successor ‘Color Your Life’ (2010) as much from tribal post-punk and Eastern experimentalism. These refreshingly opposing structural ends did however retain a strand or two of rigidity, both in their infectious allure to pop music and in the characteristic whisper of Andrea Estella. These dual elements inhere throughout ‘In Heaven’ with a resounding force; the [...]

I recently had the privilege of seeing Brooklyn's Twin Sister in concert at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, and they happened to be one of my favourite acts there. So, I was excited to see that they have just released this new video for their track "Bad Street" off the upcoming major label debut In Heaven scheduled for a Fall release. The video, shot at her childhood home in Long Island, is a tribute to lead singer Andrea Estella's roots, where she grew up with these block [...]
Twin Sister just released a video for their new single, "Bad Street." Previously, it would be easiest to slap them with the "dream pop" label, but recently the five-piece has unveiled a funkier side. Take the video for "Bad Street" as an indication that the young Long Island band's first priority is having fun together. Twin Sister returns to SF early next month with Devon Williams (LA) and Library Voices (Canada). Tickets are already on sale for that show at the Rickshaw Stop on September 4 (8pm, $12). [...]
