I enjoy watching the Alabama Shakes perform so much. Their songs are a blast and gotdamn can Brittany Howard sing. In this song she reminds me of James Brown for a pretty obvious reason: when she gets into the song she starts screaming her face off, but somehow it still sounds so good. On Tuesday evening when the first part of Later... with Jools Holland was broadcast, Alabama Shakes made the UK TV debut with a performance of "Hold On" . Last night the second part of the show was aired and we got to enjoy a second track from the band, "Hang Loose". Later... with Jools Holland  was back on the air Friday night with a second set of performances by Jack White , Norah Jones , and  Alabama Shakes . (Here's the first set if you missed it.)
