The British rock quartet, formed in 2007 recently released their debut album ' An Awesome Wave ' which won a prestigious Mercury Prize in 2012. alt-j - something good if you want a total internal anthem for the week, look no further than the latest gem from one of my fave new bands of the year alt-j. with their complex song structures (it actually sounds like 2 songs threaded together by a miracle) and vocal confidence, it's a total surprise that their musical maturity actually comes from the debut release 'an awesome wave'. i can close my eyes to this song and get lost in it... and i do! HCM was up in tears when we missed the chance to check out the buzziest band on the planet, Alt-J at Bowery Ballroom. We’re even more upset when the band releases a video as breathtaking as this for “Something Good”. Showing off the death of a matador in the most grand fashion, the emotions are on cinematic levels in the grueling piece. An Awesome Wave finally came out in the U.S. last week. Time to get it .

…que estamos perante o disco do ano. “An Awesome Wave”, álbum de estreia do quarteto Britânico denominado Alt-J (∆). Não sei se partilho do chavão. Mas sei que estamos perante um som refrescante e estimulante num ano musical que até prometia muito mas que até agora… Excelente…, bela descoberta!

Alt-J released a visually beautiful, but sad video for An Awesome Wave track "Something Good". The video tells the story of the tragic demise of a matador at the hands of a bull. The use of the slow-motion effect only adds to the drama. In addition to the new video, the band debut was also recently nominated for a Mercury Prize.

Nowadays lots of music videos don’t really make sense, or at least they don’t make sense when you listen to the lyrics and the song itself.     Después de habernos presentado el video de "Fitzpleasure" apenas la semana pasada, alt-J (∆)  nos presentan el nuevo video de "Something Good" como parte de la promoción de su álbum debut An Awesome Wave que acaba de salir en Estados Unidos. Por cierto el cuarteto de Leeds fue nominado para el Mercury Prize y son los favoritos de muchos. Enjoy.
