I'd like to claim I've been keenly following the music of Fabiana Palladino from the second I heard her voice on Ghostpoet's " Survive It " last year. Unfortunately though I simply loved the tune, swooned at the gorgeous vocals and then didn't bother my arse finding out who was responsible for said voice. Thankfully Ghostpoet places more value on the people that made his debut such a success and tweeted a link to Fabiana's new demo late on Sunday night. finally got round to seeing the GHOSTPOET last night. and next month we'll be doing a flipcam interview with him. and earlier this week the electronics-he-producer took to the JOOLS HOLLAND to excellently perform his SURVIVE IT mp3, lifted from his 2011 Mercury Prize nominated long_one. wotyougot

Yesterday we posted up a few performances from Later... with Jools Holland but this one took a little longer to surface for some reason. Whilst sat at home watching I remember thinking this was a stand-out performance from the show and it was from Ghostpoet . He stepped into the studio to perform a great rendition of "Survive It" from his Mercury Prize nominated album Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam . Check it out above.

What a night on Jools Holland: First there was Lana Del Rey, then the Horrors , and then after that, a performance from British MC/producer Ghostpoet, who did his excellent "Survive It" on the show. Ghostpoet is climbing an uphill battle, being from Britain, and also not being of the style of the Streets or Dizzee Rascal: He's more Native Tongues than grime. But Ghostpoet was recently nominated for the Mercury Prize, which is undoubtedly why he was booked on Jools. All told, he's got my vote for winning the night. Watch below:

When December rolls around, I know there's one album I'll be making sure lands on our best albums of the year list: Ghostpoet's Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam . Mercury Prize-nominated Ghostpoet has unveiled his biggest show to date, announcing a headline gig at Koko scheduled for next February. The London-based MC also appeared on Jools Holland last night, part of a billing that was well worth the trending hashtag - alongside the likes of The Horrors, Lana Del Rey and, er, Peter Gabriel.
