Für zwei Tracks seines neuen Albums "Monkeytown" lud das Berliner Duo Modeselektor niemand Geringeres als Thom Yorke ins Studio ein. Das Ergebnis der Kollabo lässt sich hören. Und zwar hier. Unverkennbare Radiohead-Klänge mischen sich unter die kühlen elektronischen Töne der Berliner Tüftler und finden dort ihren rechtmässigen Platz. Dies konnte man schon vor einigen Wochen kopfnickend feststellen, als im Netz ein Modeselektor-Remix von "Morning Mr Magpie" erschien und dem Track aus Radioheads neustem Streich "The King Of Limbs" nicht nur einen neuen Titel ( [...]

[New Tracks] Modeselektor - Shipwreck and This (Featuring Thom Yorke) The electronic duo known as Modelselektor has a long running relationship with Thom Yorke, not to mention they’ve been making music together since the fall of the Berlin Wall in “89.” This time Yorke has collaborated with the duo on two tracks off their upcoming album Monkeytown  set to drop September 30th.   Fall means at least two things to me: football and listening to music at a different temperature. Walking outside first thing in the morning and hearing Zola Jesus when it's 57 degrees out is entirely different than when it's a milky 93 degrees. (Sorry, southern California. The German electronic production duo Modeselektor are longtime friends and occasional collaborators with Thom Yorke, and Yorke shows up twice on their new album Monkeytown . Both of the songs that feature Yorke are more than six minutes long, and both of them are worthy of your attention. The first, "Shipwreck," is what you'd expect from a Modeselektor/Yorke collab: A stretched-out IDM/krautrock hybrid that makes great use of Yorke's falsetto.
