For all the shit I talked/tweeted all weekend, Coachella was surprisingly diverse, less crowded and full of enthusiastic music-as-an-interest festival goers, armed with everything they would need for the weekend from hallucinogens and booze in water bottles to spirithoods (for warmth and spirit) to elaborate camp set ups, glowstick gloves and everything in between. But alas, everyone was at the fairest desert ball of them all for the one-of-a-kind music experiences that would take place over the next three days...and the installation art. 2011 saw a ton of awesome tracks, but few were at the level of SBTRKT's collaboration with Yukimi Nagano of Little Dragon. It was so fresh that Drake had to go in and rap over it. Along with Sampha, SBTRKT takes the Coachella audience through a lengthy version of the single, complete with Drake and Nagano vocals, along with a ton of saucy mixing and percussion work. This is one performance you won't want to miss.

I spent my weekend staying up to the early hours of the morning watching the Coachella streams 0n YouTube whilst eating huge bowls of cereal and drinking copious amounts of tea. It would be a dream to be in the hot sun enjoying the unbelievably good line-up but had to settle for a damp and cold North London. From watching and reading about the festival, it looks almost to be like a US version of V Festival with the difference being a stunning year-on-year lineup. Cette année les organisateurs du Festival Coachella et Youtube ont décidé d'être généreux avec le reste de la planète en offrant la possibilité aux personnes ne se trouvant pas aux environs d'Indio, de voir une bonne partie des shows. Nous avons pu voir dans leurs intégralités les lives de Radiohead, A$AP Rocky, Bon Iver, The Black Keys, M83, et j'en passe. Une très bonne initiative qui donnera peut-être des idées aux festivals Européens je l'espère.
