I've been all over The Cool Kids since I first heard "I'm Mikey, uh uh, I rock." The production was so tight and the thick dirty bass lines rolled behind incredibly fluid ryhmes from Antoine "Mikey Rocks" Reeds. Pitchfork reports that underground rap duo The Cool Kids have left their previous label, Fool's Gold (run by Kanye West friend and collaborator A-Trak), and signed with Chocolate Industries for their upcoming releases. A friend sent me a link for the video of the Cool Kids' Black Mags video, and now I'm hooked. Signed to A-Trak ( shameless link ) and Catchdubs' Fool's Gold label , the Chicago duo waxes nostalgic about their "Dyno with the black mags."
