I've been quietly geeking out over the new record from The Week That Was whose self-titled debut album was chosen by Mojo Magazine as the 8th best album of 2008. I can no longer remain quite about this one. In tone the record is reminiscent of Eno's Another Green World, The Blue Nile, early Tears For Fears, XTC circa Oranges and Lemons with cinematic touches of orch & prog rock (esp. Peter Gabriel). Peter Brewis não sabe e pouca diferença lhe faria se soubesse que os discos dos Field Music andaram nos saldos a preço de "crash" bolsista. Muito mais agora que a banda, oficialmente, morreu. Assim, Peter com mais oito amigos, com jeito para instrumentos, criou um novo projecto, os The Week That Was, sem convidar o seu irmão Dave, que também estava nos Field Music, e lançaram um disco em Agosto.

Early this year we highlighted School Of Language , the solo project of Field Music's David Brewis. David's FM bandmate and brother Peter is busy with a new band, too.
