It's really amazing to see one of this bands, that without any backing up and without "star flatulations" come out and basically beat the shit out of almost every other band out there, digitally speaking. The Boxer Rebellion , besides being a particularly fascinating piece of history, also makes pretty good music. It's nothing groundbreaking or earth-shattering, but it's comfortable post-punk in the same vein as Interpol or Editors with a little more swirly guitar parts and a little more Keane sounding vocals. It's a bit of a twist on an old formula, but The Boxer Rebellion sets out to prove it still holds true. And while it may not win them awards, it's good enough to reel in listeners. [...]
