A little preview for Bloc Party's Intimacy Remixed album, which will be released on the 11th of May on a limited edition CD or triple 12". It will also be available digitally. The album comes with remixes from Gold Panda, Mogwai and Filthy Dukes and will lead off with this remix of Signs by Armand Van Helden which will be out on the 27th of April.
Bloc Party have got to be one of the most remixed bands around. The band themselves clearly embrace this as they are now set to release their second remixed compilation. In 2005 we saw the release of their critically acclaimed debut, Silent Alarm, shortly followed by the brilliant 'Silent Alarm : Remixed'. Now, four years on we are told of the forthcoming release of 'Intimacy : Remixed' a collection of reworks which make their 2008 release more suitable for dance-floors than the original indie anthems. The remixes are gonna come out on the 11th of May, preceeded in April by a single, featuring the Armand Van Helden remix of Signs. It's no Silent Alarm , but Bloc Party's rush-released Intimacy is at least the best BP album since Silent Alarm . Meaning it was better than A Weekend In The City . Like its older brother "Silent Alarm" the dance floor friendly jams from Bloc Party's third studio album "Intimacy" will be tweaked, cut and shuffled by the likes of Filthy Dukes, No Age, Mogwai and Phones and resold as "Intimacy Remixed". If the album is half as interesting as the below video for Arman Van Helden's remix of "Signs" then it should easily be album of the year. So the lovely people from RADAR MAKER sent us this lovely link to the newest BLOC PARTY remix by none other than the briliant ARMAND VAN HELDEN . With a bassline thats gonna rock party floors up and down the lands this remix is tightly produced (well what else would you expect from the man Van Helden) and combines the catchy indie/rock sound of BLOC PARTY with some classic dancefloor ingredients which results in a subtle but addictive little number indeed.
