What with the sun being out and everything, and talk turning to festivals all over the site this week, we're getting pretty excited about festival season. So it's pretty handy then that it starts NEXT WEEK with the Austrian snowboarding rave-up Volvo Snowbombing. Read more...
Bibio (aka Stephen Wilkinson) is a self-taught guitarist and musician from central England. Attending the University of London and studying Sonic Arts, Bibio's experimental electronic sound began to emerge. Taking influences from other artists such as Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada, Bibio made use of many field recordings and other strangely affected noises to create his subtle and unique

Stephen Wilkinson, a.k.a. Bibio, is set to release his fifth full-length and second release on Warp records March 29th. The album, Mind Bokeh, is filled with the same genre-defying soundscapes as his last album Ambivalence Avenue, while being slightly more upbeat and accessible. His signature blend of folk-style acoustics, vocal sampling, danceable beats, and psychedelia is prevalent across the whole album. Below are two great tracks, "Excuses" and "Saint Christopher," plus a video sampler of the entire album. Purchase it here . Bibio - "Excuses" [...]
Stephen Wilkinson is Bibio, a name taken from a type of fly his father used on fishing trips they took together. It’s been two years since his last record, Ambivalence Avenue; though one of it’s extreme highlights, “Lover’s Carvings”, is still alive and kicking the book down in Kindle commercials. The English producer skates the [...]

On March 29th, Warp Records will release Bibio 's latest effort Mind Bokeh , which is chock-full of neon-lit pop jams. Check out the sampler below for a taste of whats to come. According to Bibio: Bokeh is the out of focus region of a photograph. It's not a quantifiable thing, but photographers and lens manufacturers are obsessed with it. In Japanese it means “haze”, “blur”, or even “dementia”. I called the album Mind Bokeh because I'm [...]

Stephen Wilkinson (Bibio) is releasing his sixth studio album this year, entitled Mind Bokeh. The record promises to be as tasty as his previous offerings, including 2009's fantastic Ambivalence Avenue . You can listen to an official album sampler below courtesy of Warp Records. Mind Bokeh is set to be released April 4th through Warp Records. – DZ

Stephen Wilkinson, better known as Bibio , is set to release his sixth album next month. Mind Bokeh will be his first release for two years, despite releasing a total of three albums just in 2009, and his third on Warp Records . We haven't got any full tracks to play you unfortunately, but Warp have released an album sampler to give people a little taste of the final package. We can give you one of the best tracks from Bibio's previous release Ambivalence Avenue . Bibio - Lover's [...]

Bibio has annoucned that the follow-up to his 2009 album "Ambivalence Avenue" is titled "Mind Bokeh" and will be released on March 29 in the US and April 4 everywhere else on Warp. You can listen to the album sampler from "Mind Bokeh" below and see the tracklisting. ...

You know the drill. This is a post about our 2009 album of the year champion Bibio , whose forthcoming album Mind Bokeh is coming March 29th on WARP . This sampler shows the artist touching upon more interesting sounds, glowing psychedelia and heavier funk. It's not much of a stretch from Ambivalence Avenue -- which is a good thing -- but it sounds so refreshing. Pre-order the album over at Bleep then check [...]
Typically I might be wary of any band described as "pop pastoralist" (Pitchfork's words), but this sampler actually sounds kinda nice. I'll be looking for this one on emusic in March. Pitchfork says: Mind Bokeh , the new album from the electronic pop pastoralist and Boards of Canada disciple Bibio , arrives March 29 in the U.S. and April 4 in the rest of the world, via Warp . The follow-up to 20092s BNM'ed Ambivalence Avenue takes its title from the Japanese word "bokeh", [...]
BIBIO ANNOUNCED NEW ALBUM DUE MARCH 29th. This is the Mind Bokeh album sampler. Such a HUGE tease. Excitement doesn’t begin to describe what I’m feeling right now. Ambivalence Avenue is one of my favorite albums of all time. Y’all. Seriously. This is such a tease though. color me hella stoked.
