On April 9, 2012, Radiohead will finally return to Seattle. It's been almost four years since their last visit - in August of 2008, they played 25 songs at White River Amphitheater in support of In Rainbows (check out the setlist here ). Then we waited, and waited, and waited. When Radiohead posted their initial US dates in support of their newest album The King of Limbs , Seattle was nowhere to be seen. And that's about that. Another year passed, and with it another deluge of music sifted through and enjoyed while we could before seeing what stuck. But then, to put it that way actually sounds miserable-- it was quite the opposite! So what have been the musical trends of 2011, the dominant sounds?  Here come SOIWT's thoughts... 2011 was an interesting year for music. Great sounds were thankfully everywhere- but songs, as opposed to albums, became suddenly more memorable. While there is no doubt that 2011 was an exciting time for full-length releases, more and more artists seemed to be embracing the idea of the single and crafting an album around it. Due to this apparent evolution, I will be counting down my top 100 songs of 2011. The rules are simple- obviously the track must have first been released in this current year. Album #2: The King Of Limbs by Radiohead The King Of Limbs is not my favourite album of the year, apparently. I go back and forth. But I must admit to experiencing an existential crisis of sorts with placing TKOL at #2. While it is certainly a "minor" Radiohead album (short, little publicity, no tour, no commercial single, etc), I still find myself listening to TKOL a lot.
