Chicago folkies the Giving Tree Band released a new album today, Vacilador . The band plays a record release show at House of Blues Thursday.

The men of The Giving Tree Band come from adventurous, even heroic, stock. Their prescription for a good life is to live an honorable one, with a strong connection to nature and the goodness that comes from being in complete harmony with it. The Giving Tree Band has finished recording their new album Vacilador , and the first single from the new record is called "Cold Cold Rain". The band has released a video for the track and announced that they are hitting the road next month with Joe Prudy. They also said they will have pre-release copies of the album available on the tour. The Giving Tree Band will arrive back in Chicago on June 29th at Double Door .
