Here's an interesting interview conducted by CTRL (a Top Man yokey) with Diplo where he reveals he is working with Rolo Tomassi, Sleigh Bells and Lil Jon, his love of metal and the artists that are doing it for him right now. CTRL have also given me a t-shirt designed by Diplo to giveaway. There were only 50 of these made. You can see the design of it here . It was no doubt inspired by Diplo's constant hand sign in photos . Drop me a mail on freebies@nialler9.com with [...]

Get to me and turn me well, I'm a tired soul Get to me and turn me well, I'm a tired soul I was told desire had a sell by date Well it's rotted and altered, but still remains Climbs the promise of no real change I didn't know you would last this long I didn't think I would last this long No vacuum is now, and here [...]

Muudkui leian ägedusi. Üks (esimene) pärl: Micachu & The Shapes - Turn Me Well

This new video from Micachu and the Shapes ' album Jewellery premiered last week on Bjork's website of all places. It's good to see interesting new artists being supported by music legends, but then again, Bjork has always been good about that. I really dig the vacuum on this track and the video suits the tune well.

Mica Levi e as suas formas estão de regresso aos vídeos com um filme para o tema "Turn Me Well". Micachu & Shapes tocarão na ZDB a 21 de novembro.Micachu & the Shapes
One of Bjork's favorite bands at the moment, Micachu and The Shapes, have a new music video out for their single "Turn Me Well" which premiered on her website yesterday. Micachu and The Shapes do have some US shows coming...

It's not what you know, it's who you know is one of those sentiments we like to pretend is false while plugging our ears and singing lalalalala . But while we're in denial, temporarily zoned out and humming to ourselves the beneficiaries of nepotism are using our skulls as stepping stones to the top of entitlement mountain. It's a pretty bleak world view but hey, I'm a pretty bleak guy. Sometimes though, it's fucking awesome when superstars use their fame to leverage interest in their not so famous friends. Such is the [...]
Micachu - Turn Me Well Vacuum cleaners are such an underappreciated instrument.
Micachu from Micachu and The Shapes stands in front of a background of sky and trees and leaves as she lip syncs in their latest video, "Shape Me Well".
Here's a purty new Micachu video that features the electronic girl-wonder, aka Mica Levy multiplied against passing trees and foliage. Micachu and the Shapes are easily the best new artists of the year, but hey don't just take my word for it, here's what Bjork had to say about her... "I ...

Les Savy Fav @ Brooklyn Masonic Temple in March ( more by Natasha Ryan ) For some, 9/9/09, is a special date because it is the last time we will see single-digit repeating numbers in a date until January 1, 2101. According to Livescience.com, 9/9/09 is significant to numerologists because the number 9 is, to coin a term, "yingyangy." In other words, it is associated with noble qualities such as forgiveness, compassion and success and ignoble qualities such as arrogance and self-righteousness. Some are excited about 09/09/09 because Tim Burton 's [...]
Björk is no Kanye West : girl seems to have no interest in being a "tastemaker." So when Björk lets her official website promote your material, it's something to feel good about. That's exactly what Björk did today for the UK's Micachu, premiering her video for "Turn Me Well." It's a clip that relies entirely on Micachu's moxie and charisma, which she's certainly got, even though her contribution to this clip looks like it was recorded on a Macbook's built-in camera.

Mika Levy and her Shapes released one of the best British albums this year -- a debut, no less -- although you wouldn't know that from the Mercury Prize . Or its nominee list . No, for that sort of championing of creative takes on pop music it seems you're better off listening to other artists capable of the same. Like, say, Björk, whose bjork.com just made its foray into premiering music videos with the latest clip from Micachu's excellent Jewellery LP. B talked about seeing the Shapes live to NPR, saying: [...]
