James Blake has announced that they will be playing three shows this December in Bristol, London and Manchester. James Blake , now known for his enigmatic and unique songwriting, is returning to his roots as a producer under his old moniker " Harmonimix ". On 'Confidence Boost,' Blake joins forces with grime MC Trim to form Trimbal. The producer lays down his signature, sparse atmospherics, building towards a chilling climax with the addition of Trim's dark, contorted vocals The track is available today through R&S Records  and receives fittingly spare visual treatment from Rollo Jackson, cutting between Trim, Blake, and a few pose striking ladies. James Blake was making dubstep back when dubstep was, more or less, an offshoot of grime, but his cerebral electronic pop never really had much to do with grime's all-out bluster. So it's weird to hear him teaming up with the grime MC Trim on a new single. But it's happening. Harmonimix is a side project for the much celebrated James Blake. Before he forayed into the realm of a singer-songwriter he was cranking out remixes as Harmonimix , releasing limited and highly sought after white label 123 singles. One of those dubs that never got the release was his remix of Trim's "Confidence Boost", which I can't confirm, but I remember in an interview Mr. Blake calling it his favorite song that he has ever produced, which is saying quite a lot.
