According to recent reports, Beach House will be releasing the follow-up to 2010's fantastic Teen Dreams on May 15th via Sub Pop, and that the new studio effort will be titled Bloom. Since the reports hit the web, Sub Pop has neither denied nor confirmed any of the information, but nonetheless the album will include 10 tracks, two of which, "Wild" and "Other People," Beach House has performed live. Beach House played at New York City's Webster Hall this past Friday, and among the aural delights they presented was a brand new song. We're not sure of the title yet, but Pitchfork reports to have confirmation that "it is a work-in-progress, this is an early arrangement, and the song could very well change." At any rate, an audience member was able to capture pretty great video of the band playing the song live. It's yet another example of the sort of beautiful, woozy, entrancing music that Beach House are now famous for. [ 24 Bit ]
Performed at Webster Hall, Stereogum points out that it sounds like something that could have been on Teen Dream , I definitely agree with that. That record was pretty awesome though. If you're into that stuff, I'd go so far as to say it was nearly flawless. Just a really, really solid record. Victoria and Alex work so well together, much like Summer Camp's ability to ball NBA Jam Style .
Beach House debuted a fantastic new tune over the weekend. I'm a moderate Beach House fan, but this one seems like it could be the one that tips me into rabid fandom. It's got some meat to its bones without losing their etherial quality. Can't wait for a studio version.

Beach House shows are always near-epileptic affairs, and their Friday night gig at New York City’s Webster Hall was no different, but what made staring at glowing pyramids and flashing strobes well worth the potential convulsions was the Baltimore-Md.-based band unveiling a brand spanking new song.
