Best gig: I was a Barrowland virgin prior to this year. This, despite the entreaties of various friends and colleagues extolling its virtues as a venue (hello Lesley Stokes!). In truth, it actually sounded faintly unpleasant; sprung ballroom floor, decor out of a 70s amusement arcade, unpromising location in the arse-end of Glasgow. Not exactly the Ministry of Sound. And, yes, at first glance the surroundings are exactly as described, a potential set from Life On Mars . But as is so often the case, the unpreposessing decor belies the experience to be [...]

Ok, so let's do the counting backwards stuff cos it's so goddamned suspenseful! 20. Radiohead: Nude The standout track on In Rainbows, yet it only truly came to life for me when they held their remix competition earlier in the year. The Thomas Dolby version is particulatly lovely. 19. Antony & The Johnsons: Another World [...]

Wiley is one of the original founders of what is now known as UK 'Grime' music. It is said that he has influenced everyone that's been doing that genre of music, to name a few: Skepta, Doctor, Jammer and most notably Dizzee Rascal. With massive hits like : "Wearing My ...

I t was only time before Grime invaded our Dancefloors and surprisingly, it took way longer than expected. Recently we've seen Dizzee Razcal pair up with Bun B with a track that pushes the boundaries of Hip Hop without even trying. Similarly, Wiley's "Wearing my rolex transforms itself into THE Dancefloor banger in every DJ's set regardless of the genre. In the UK, Grime has been at the forefront of electronic music and Hip Hop, partly because of the popularity of Two Step and Drum&Bass in the late nineties. Now with the rise of Dubstep and the nostalgia [...]
This song seems to be tearin' it up in the U.K. and the video, well, it's my kind of video...you'll see! Check it out.
Not really sure where Mr Wiley was on the day of filming, but things took a decidedly Mighty Boosh-esque turn on the set of his video for 'Wearing My Rolex'.Anyway, someone had the frankly excellent idea of getting a load of dancing girls wearing big cats heads and who are we to complain, eh?Check out the video for 'Wearing My Rolex' and see what you think. WAPS is erring on the side of 'banging'. Could a number one be on the cards?dnezldGu7JU» Wiley on MySpace ( http://www.myspace.com/eskiboy wiley)
