Pearl Jam wrapped up a four-night, sold out run at Philadelphia's Wachovia Spectrum by dressing up in Devo 's famed jumpsuits and "energy dome" hats and launching into the band's hit "Whip It" Halloween night.

Bands pretty much get to wear masks and costumes every night. We couldn't decide whether this made Halloween particularly awesome or particularly mundane for bands. But we settled somewhere closer to awesome, because at least one day of the year everyone gets to join them in this and maybe they don't feel so alone. Then we wondered what is was like for Conor Oberst to not feel alone. Maybe he doesn't do Halloween concerts... While I'm really thankful that Lexington got Man Man for Halloween, I can't help but be slightly jealous that I couldn't bi-locate and also attend Pearl Jam's show in Philly for this great cover of Devo's "Whip It." Maybe the best part is that Jeff, Stone and Mike all do the stiff, robot-esque moves Devo [...]
