The White Stripes' new documentary Under the Great Northern Lights follows the band through their 2007 Canadian tour, in which they played every province in cities that were not accustomed to a band of such a caliber to perform. The film featured phenomenal cinematography, candid images and conversations with the band, and featured their raucous live performances as well as their impromptu daytime performances in each city. Fans of the White Stripes have been looking forward to Under Great Northern Lights for awhile. The documentary follows the band on its 2007 tour across Canada, where concerts took place everywhere from bowling alleys to city buses.

The much-anticipated White Stripes documentary screens at the Northwest Film Forum this weekend, for two nights only. Friday (2/26) and Saturday (2/27) at 9pm. Looks pretty righteous, but I hope they address that darned brother/sister/girlfriend/boyf riend thing (jk!). . . I saw another documentary with Jack White not too long ago. Huh, fancy that.

The White Stripes release Under Great White Northern Lights , their first-ever live album & documentary on March 12th. The documentary charts their Canadian tour in 2007. The live album features 16 songs available on vinyl and CD. There's also a box set - see below for that. The film was premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September last year.
