To celebrate their new weekly radio program, Animal Collective premiered a new track entitled "Today's Supernatural." Coming off their new album Centipede Hz, the psychedelic quartet never ceases to amaze with what sound they will come up with next. Slated for a September 14th release, give "Today's Supernatural" a listen below!

When I learned “Honeycomb” was not going to be on the upcoming Animal Collective record, Centipede Hz , I grew upset. As that was one of their best tracks to date in their illustrious career, the band had to step up their game even more to impress me. Luckily 1st proper single, “Today’s Supernatural” is odd, interesting, and most importantly, fun. A bit more focused from the usual all over place indie megastars.  Centipide Hz arrives September 4th via Domino.

So I've heard this song a whole bunch of times now, and every time I listen to it I'm like, " I don't remember that happening? Wait? What? It's over? What just happened? " All I can remember is some crazy splosh of colourful sounds and Avey Tare 's yelps. That being said - I like it. Obviously this seems to imply a bit of a break from what they were doing on Merriweather Post Pavilion and feels more in-line with what they were doing on like Strawberry Jam , sort of. Today is supernatural, indeed. At least, upon listening to this new Animal Collective track, it's quite psychedelic. The quartet pushes sonic buttons – literally and figuratively – again, this time flinging Avey Tare's vocals into a stuttering frenzy. It appears on Centipede Hz , which is out September 4 on Domino .

Animal Collective has released the first single, "Tomorrow's Supernatural," off their ninth album Centipede Hz . The album is the much anticipated follow up to 2009's acclaimed Merriweather Post Pavilion and is due out September 4. "Tomorrow's Supernatural" debuted on the band's new online radio program, Animal Collective Radio . Now that they've whetted appetites with the summer double-sided stand alone "Honeycomb"/ "Gotham" , Animal Collective have officially switched focus to their new album Centipede Hz with the freshly dropped lead cut "Today's Supernatural", another kaleidoscopic burst of psychedelia WTF to spend days trying to wrap your head around. A druggy, chaotic morsel densely layered with garage rock organs, Latin elements, Avey Tare's screechy "Le-le-le-le-le-le-let go!" yelps and enough swirly decoration to leave one's brain spinning well after the song's fadeout, "Today's Supernatural" feels like a Saturday morning jingle [...]

Olha, gosto muito desta música nova dos Animal Collective. "Today's Supernatural" é o primeiro single a sair do novo álbum 'Centipede Hz' e já está na lista de músicas candidatas a Top 2012. Depois de "Honeycomb" e "Gotham" onde os ácidos pareciam ao rubro, parece que agora encontro os Animal Collective em modo rehab.
