
Washington, DC based band Deleted Scenes is made up of four high school friends who played together, parted ways after graduation, and reconvened to form the band a few years later. With songwriters Dan Scheuerman (guitar/vocals) and Matt Dowling (bass/keys/vibes/flexotone) contributing equally to each song, and Brian Hospital (drums) and Chris Scheffey (guitar) rounding out the group, the band's sound is complete. Deleted Scenes [ MySpace ] offers more insight about the creation of the "One Long Country Song" clip explaining: "It's illegal to shoot on the DC Metro for homeland security reasons. Luckily nobody arrested us. The setting is perfect for its continual interplay with the lyrics. The song begins 'It's one long country song to the Metro / which is five blocks by anyone else's count,' and proceeds to process the previous evening's romantic disaster through the bleary brain-chemistry of an awkward all-nighter." Just wanted to remind everyone about two great shows going on in D.C. this weekend. Tomorrow night (Saturday) it's Deleted Scenes , The Drones and Pretty & Nice on the Black Cat's main stage. I recently became a huge fan of The Drones based on two of their sets that I caught at SXSW, and can't wait to see them again. Similarly, I've also just recently started getting into Deleted Scenes, largely at the insistence of the DC Rock Club guys , who have been raving about them forever. [...]
