The Maccabees are coming to the US for what at this point is just a two-night NYC run. For that, the band's previously announced Music Hall of Williamsburg show on June 20th will be followed by a Monday, June 22nd gig at Mercury Lounge. Tickets are on sale. Here's the brand new Maccabees video. For those of you that are not accustomed to the strange English tradition of 'Cheese Rolling' then make sure you watch it. Once a year, hundreds of people literally throw themselves down a really steep hill, chasing after a lump of cheese. I kid you not. It'll probably get banned soon because we now live in a ridiculously over-regulated world (to be fair some of the injuries that are caused are often pretty gruesome), but at least for now the tradition carries on and we can all have a good laugh at these English farmer folks...
