By Rip Empson You may know Charlotte Gainsbourg as the stunning and talented French actress from The Science of Sleep, 21 Grams, or Lars von Trier's Palme-d'Or-winning Antichrist -- but what you may not know is that she also happens to be the daughter of legendary gallic singer/songwriter and troublemaker, Serge Gainsbourg. It seems music has always been in her blood, even though she's spent most of her musical life in the shadow of her father – and their strange, provocative 1984 duet album... But others have launched with the new decade. Here are 20 of our favorite songs that rose in popularity the first three months of this year. [...]

It spoofs An American Family, the first reality TV series, so it's really interesting to see 30+ years later. Some scenes are so before their time, it's eerie. (And I've got to get my hands on one of those crazy helmet-cams!)
Charlotte Gainsbourg has been doing the promotional rounds to promote her IRM album, and she cooked up something special for radio station KCRW earlier this week. The actress-turned-singer brought the producer of the album, Beck, to the studio to deliver this version of "Heaven Can Wait." The surprisingly great record is one of the best projects Beck has worked on in a while, and "Heaven Can Wait" is among a handful of standout tracks. This performance doesn't add much to the song—the pair simply stand motionless and perform the song, with zero [...]
